Anish Agarwal is a PhD student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) department at MIT, and is a member of the Laboratory of Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) and the Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS). He is co-advised by Munther Dahleh and Devavrat Shah.
His research interests are in:
(1) causal inference & decision making (e.g. synthetic control methods, data-efficient reinforcement learning).
(2) high-dimensional statistics (e.g. matrix estimation, time series analysis, learning with corrupted data).
(3) systems for machine learning (e.g. databases with native predictive functionality).
(4) design of data marketplaces.
Prior to coming to MIT, he worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and as the lead machine learning engineer at Ikasi Inc., a data science startup in San Francisco. He received his BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from Caltech.< Back to Our Team
